birdie onesies

Here's a sweet little gift that is easy and fast. All you need is felt, a few onesies, a pair of scissors, a sewing machine and about 15 minutes of your time.

1) Free hand some little birdies and cut them out

2) Stitch them (over the existing design) on the front of the onesie
3) Admire and then wrap them up for a sweet little baby gift.

So cute! I love felt but have never used it for clothing appliques because I was afraid of how it would wash? Have you tried it before? Is it best to use a wool felt and prewash it or use a synthetic? Super cute idea and such a quick gift idea too!

so cute! I love your blog and I LOVE your adorable dollies - if I weren't in major saving mode, I would totally snatch up two of them for my two friends who just had little girls. I'm bookmarking them, nonetheless!

thanks gals!

katie- i've only appliqued a couple times with felt but since its the synthetic kind it doesn't shrink. regardless, they probably won't last forever- especially with frequent washings..oh well! :)
