"super hero' Fort Kit

I was so thrilled when i came across this great birthday gift idea a few months ago. When Will got invited to a "Super Hero" birthday party this last weekend i knew we had to make one for his friend.

It was pretty easy to put together once i located the right places to get all the stuff and thrifty too!
Here's a run down of what's included:
-2 Twin sheets: ARC for about $2 each
-Ties on the Sheet: old XL T-shirt
-Rope: Hobby lobby for about $2
-Flash Light: Dollar Store $1
-Clamps: Dollar Store $1
-Glow Sticks: Dollar Store $1
-Clothes Pins: Dollar Store $1
-Suction Cups: Dollar Store $1
-Lightening Bolt bag: Some cheap gray fabric, yellow felt $2

TOTAL: $13.00
And thanks to  SISTER who printed out this tag for me.  I discovered that my printer was out of ink 15 minutes before we needed to leave for the party. :)

So creative, Meagan! What a great idea for boys, who are usually harder to buy for. :)

I don't have kids yet, so I might just not be thinking about this from the right angle...but how does this work, exactly? What are the clamps and suction cups for?

Thank you for your help! I feel like this would be a great gift for my nephew, but I'd like to be able to explain it to the parents. :)

Hi there!
Anonymous: You made me laugh! I suppose having kids does explain a lot of this...anyway, the clamps, clothes pins, suction cups are all there just to help keep the sheets in place.I don't know if you can tell in the pic, but i sewed ties to the 4 corners of the sheets. these ties are used to help secure the sheet to various objects like cabinet doors, counter tops, bed posts, dressers etc. The kids can slip a tie through the clamp, clip or suction cup(stick on a window) to give them more options as to where they can build their fort. Does that make sense?? :) I"m SURE your nephew will love it!

Very creative lady! It's nice to know that you can do a lot amazing stuff just by purchasing on the right resources which won't always break your wallet.

I'm so glad I found this. I saw it linked from Pinterest to another site but not yours so I didn't see the tutorial. I would love to see a finished tent as well. Did you post pictures? Or have one? I'm kinda like anonymous but with kids. LOL. I need more visuals! Thanks. (my email: sarah@broadweave.net) And I don't get follow-up comments so could you please email me?

I think this would totally work for little girls too, with a change in colors of the materials. Why should boys have all the fun? ;) Thinking about making this kit for our niece - she's 7 (my kids are younger) - are forts fun for any age??

I just made one for a birthday party. Finding the flat sheet was the hardest, but Goodwill had some that were NEW in the package only $3! But they didn't have any cool colors...so it's tan. Oh well. I used my embroidery machine to personalize the bag. Came out SUPER cute.
